I'm currently planning out my Thanksgiving dinner, and despite the fact that it's only the two of us, there will still be a full dinner with all the sides. This will be my third Thanksgiving that I've cooked entirely on my own, so I'm hoping that everything I've learned will lead to a smooth execution.
I'll be posting my menu and a list of tips on how to have a stress-free Thanksgiving soon, but in the meantime, you should make yourself a retro Gimlet to enjoy as we head into the holiday week. Since we grow limes at our house, I usually have everything I need to make it, so this drink is a great standby. We also have a rosemary bush, which gives me a great opportunity to add an easy herbal twist to this classic.
.75oz simple syrup
Juice of half a lime
Rosemary sprigs (optional)
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice (if using fresh rosemary, muddle before adding ice) and shake gently until cold. Strain into a martini glass. It's a strong drink, so add a little soda water if you need it.
